1. JOB PURPOSE: The primary purpose of the Attendant Operator – Chemical Process (Apprentice Trainee) is to assist in the safe and efficient operation of chemical plant equipment. This includes monitoring, controlling, and maintaining various processes, recording operational data, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. The apprentice will undergo hands-on training under the supervision of senior operators to develop the technical skills required for the role, contributing to the smooth functioning of plant operations.

MAJOR ACTIVITIES

Safe and smooth operation of plant equipment

- Assist in starting/stopping process equipment under supervision
- Follow all safety protocols and wear PPE
- Report abnormalities immediately

Efficient material handling and process assistance

-Help in charging raw materials and transferring intermediates
- Assist in sampling and labelling

Maintain plant cleanliness and hygiene

-Regular cleaning of work area and equipment surfaces
- Proper disposal of waste and spillage control

Support in basic maintenance and troubleshooting

- Assist during preventive maintenance
- Observe and report equipment issues to concerned staff

3. MAJOR CHALLENGES

- Adapting to continuous shift operations (including night shifts)

- Maintaining strict safety compliance in hazardous environments

- Understanding complex chemical processes and equipment operations

- Ensuring accurate recording and monitoring without prior experience

· Whether to immediately stop/alert supervisor in case of abnormal activity

. Deciding how to prioritize tasks during busy or shift-change periods

· Recognizing potential failure signs like leakage, vibration, or unusual noise

• Batches Handled: 6-8 per shift
• Housekeeping Area: 100 to 500 sq. meters
