Job Summary:

The Elevator Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of elevators, escalators, and lift systems. The role ensures safe and efficient operation of vertical transportation systems in compliance with company standards and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation & Commissioning:

  • Install new elevator and escalator systems according to blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

  • Conduct system calibration and functional testing before handover.

• Maintenance & Servicing:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of elevators, escalators, and dumbwaiters.

  • Lubricate, adjust, and replace defective parts such as cables, door mechanisms, or control panels.

  • Maintain service records and ensure scheduled maintenance adherence.

• Troubleshooting & Repairs:

  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and electronic malfunctions using testing tools.

  • Repair or replace faulty components to restore equipment functionality.

  • Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and ensure minimal downtime.

• Safety Compliance:

  • Follow all safety protocols, PPE guidelines, and statutory requirements (IS standards, OEM safety norms, etc.).

  • Conduct safety inspections and report any hazards or violations.

• Customer Interaction:

  • Communicate clearly with clients regarding service schedules, maintenance needs, and safety instructions.

  • Provide on-site technical support and educate building management on proper usage and care.

• Documentation:

  • Complete service reports, maintenance logs, and inspection forms accurately.

  • Update digital or manual records in the company’s database or maintenance software.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems in elevators.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, circuit diagrams, and technical manuals.

• Skilled in fault diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance.

• Good communication and customer handling skills.

• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

• Familiarity with modern elevator control systems (VVVF, microprocessor-based controllers, etc.).

Educational Qualification:

• ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering.

• Certification in Elevator Technology or related trade is preferred.

Experience Required:

• 0–2 years (Junior Technician) or 3–5 years (Senior Technician) experience in elevator maintenance and installation.

• Experience with brands like Otis, Schindler, KONE, Thyssenkrupp, or local OEMs is an advantage.

Work Environment:

• Field-based role involving travel to various client sites.

• Work at heights, confined spaces, or under varying weather conditions.

• On-call rotation for emergency breakdowns may be required.

Salary Range:

₹12,000 – ₹22,000 per month (depending on experience and skill level).
