JOB PURPOSE: The IT System Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stable, secure, and efficient operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure. This includes managing servers, networks, hardware, software, and user access systems. The role involves monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, implementing upgrades, maintaining data backups, and ensuring cybersecurity compliance to support business continuity and productivity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.     Server and System Management:

• Monitor and manage Servers and storage systems.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS).
• Manage and monitor domain services – Active Directory (AD), DNS, DHCP, Group Policies.
• Regularly review event logs, system health, and performance metrics.

2.     Network Administration:

• Oversee LAN/WAN infrastructure including switches, routers, and wireless access points and internet systems.
• Manage firewall rules and VPN configurations (e.g., Sophos etc.)
• Perform IP address management and VLAN segmentation for better traffic control.

3.     Data Backup and Disaster Recovery:

• Configure and monitor daily/weekly backups for servers, NAS, and databases.
• Test backup restores periodically to ensure DR preparedness.

4.    Security and Compliance:

• Implement and maintain antivirus, endpoint protection, and patch management tools.
• Monitor security logs, unauthorized access attempts, and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct periodic IT audits and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
• Assist in cybersecurity policy development and employee awareness training.

5.     User and Access Management:

• Provision and de-provision user accounts, access rights, and security groups.
• Enforce password policies, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and access controls.
• Provide end-user support for software, system access, and troubleshooting requests.

6.     IT Asset & Vendor Management:

• Maintain accurate inventory of hardware, software licenses, and warranties.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for support, procurement, and AMC renewals.
• Evaluate hardware/software options for upgrades or new implementations.

7.     Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain up-to-date documentation of system configurations, SOPs, network diagrams, and admin tasks.
• Generate regular reports on system uptime, incidents, asset utilization, and patch compliance.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: Master's/Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; with 10 to 15 years of experience in managing IT Infrastructure Operations.
